Sustainable Water Management Practices.

Our commitment to water sustainability in agriculture begins at our 100% stainless steel, state-of-the-art facility.

We recycle 98% of our vegetable wash water through our modular ECONSE system. This extracts nutrients from wastewater and provides them to the next batch of our farm-fresh crops.

Aside from our partnership with ECONSE, we only work with growers who share our commitment to cultivating the highest-quality produce while working towards sustainable farming practices.

Our Strategies for Water Conservation.

Irrigation systems

We irrigate to offer all of our crops the nutrients they need without wasting excess water. Our solution provides the right amount of water to the root zone of our plants, letting us cultivate healthier yields without negatively impacting the environment.

Crop rotation

Our commitment to crop rotation allows our fields to rejuvenate, contributing to healthier, more fertile soil. This improves water retention, minimizes surface runoff, and enhances drought resistance, helping us provide our sustainable produce year-round.

Cover crops

We cultivate cover crops between cycles to protect our soil from erosion. This sustainable farming practice enhances our soil’s structure and health, controls weed growth, and supports water retention, leading to fresher, more sustainable crop yields.

Water Recycling and Conservation Techniques

Almost half of agricultural water is currently wasted due to inefficient irrigation and recycling techniques. We’re determined to change that narrative. ATV Farms takes sustainable water management seriously. There’s a reason we’re the proud allies of the OSCIA and EFP.

Disinfection nutrient recovery

We use disinfection nutrient recovery to extract valuable, natural fertilizer from our vegetable wash water. Our knowledgeable farmers then use this to provide sustainable nutrients to our crops year-round, reducing our reliance on harmful synthetic fertilizers.

Wash water recycling

With our closed-loop water recycling system, we’re proud to say that 98% of our vegetable wash water is recycled back into our farms, providing life and growth to the next batch of our outstanding farm-fresh produce.

Organic matter recycling

We compost our unused wholesale vegetables and feed the nutrients back into our soil. This reduces our food wastage and enriches our crops with natural fertilizer that doesn’t impact the environment.

Real-Time Water Monitoring Systems

We combine our drip irrigation system with real-time water monitoring. This lets us determine exactly how much water our crops require and when. We can adjust schedules in real-time to prevent under and overwatering. This reduces wastage and means we can maintain a high standard of productivity and efficiency

ATV Farms partners with ECONSE to leverage the next generation of sustainable water management technologies on our local farms. ECONSE’s advanced water recycling system helps us recover nutrients for our produce and address water shortages with smart recycling and soil dewatering solutions.
