Soil Health & Management.

Our crops are only as good as they are because our farmers pay attention to their soil. This allows us to guarantee that every product is packed with nutrients.

Here’s how we make sure our soil is as healthy as possible:

Reducing synthetic pesticides

These chemicals seriously affect our climate and soil health.
ATV commits to using these solutions less.

Cover crops

We keep our farms’ soil busy between harvests. This makes
sure it retains the nutrients that make our fresh produce special.

Composting

We feed unused vegetables back into the ground.
This improves the soil’s structure and makes produce
farming easier.

Natural pest control

Crop rotation makes it a lot harder for pests to spread. Biodiverse soil is also more resistant to potential outbreaks.

Water Sustainability
in Agriculture

ATV Farms practices efficient water use. This conserves local resources whilst still making sure our crops get enough to grow. Agriculture currently uses 70% of the world’s water supply. Farms must carefully manage this to keep everything sustainable.

Our smart irrigation techniques let us use the right amount of water, and not a drop more. ATV’s state-of-the-art facility recycles 98% of its water through a modular ECONSE system. This alone goes a long way to reducing our impact.

In addition, ECONSE uses soil dewatering to remove excess water from the ground. We don’t waste this; we simply put it back into our farm. This system even disinfects the water to guarantee every product is safe to eat.

Without effective water conservation, our farms would face soil erosion and suffer from smaller crop yields. Combined with the damage over-watering causes to our planet, this makes water sustainability vital.

About Water Sustainability

Bees and Pollination.

A number of our fruit and vegetable crops rely on bees. As part of our sustainable farming, ATV massively limits the use of synthetic pesticides to help their populations.

Our partners, including the NSF and USDA, are hard at work to protect bee colonies. With their help, gardens, and farms across North America will soon be brighter than ever.

About Our Bees

Reducing Carbon Footprint

Agriculture is responsible for around 11% of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. Our produce distribution network aims to limit ATV’s carbon footprint wherever possible. Here are a few of the ways we do this:

Minimizing Transportation Emissions

Our Canada and USA fleets form a full logistics network. This helps us limit the distance we travel for each order.

Renewable
Energy Use

ATV facilities make the most of renewable energy. This lets us deliver a sustainable farming service that also costs less for us.

ECONSE Water Recycling

Our new facility recycles 98% of the water it uses in a closed loop. Our ECONSE system also extracts extra nutrients from wastewater.

Sustainable farming goes beyond growing crops. Everything surrounding this process must also keep the planet itself in mind. ATV Farms proudly works alongside Green Earth Organics to stay as low-waste and low-carbon as possible.

Partnering With
Local Farmers

On the topic of our partnerships, we also work exclusively with responsible growers. This is in addition to our own farms. These work in harmony with the environment and follow food safety practices. ATV Farms helps local agriculture by giving farmers the space to deliver better, fresher produce.

Working with nearby, responsible farmers is great for local economies. Our Canadian farms each contribute a lot to their area. Depending on the season, we also change the farm where we grow our products.

ATV Farms is proud to work alongside local farmers. In fact, local farmers helped us recover from a fire in 2019 without missing a single order.

Community Involvement

We’re proud members of food and farming organizations across Canada and the USA. Here are just some
of our partners:

Each membership stands as a sign of our devotion to the local community. We pledge to deliver only the best produce to your stores and supermarkets.

Beyond this, we also promote Community Supported Agriculture initiatives. These help farmers find regular customers. They also give us yet another way of helping great growers who practice sustainable farming.

Hear From Our Valued Customers.

ATV Farms is the largest shipper of root crops in Canada for a reason. People trust us — across several continents — to deliver nothing less than high-quality produce. ATV’s reviews are full of praise for our great-tasting fruit and vegetables.

Our healthy soil can resist harsh climates and keep its moisture across seasons. On top of this, ATV’s ECONSE system saves energy and limits the need to pump more fresh water. With these practices and others, we can meet our long-term sustainable farming goals.

ATV’s titular farms are mainly in Canada and the USA. But we also provide fresh produce to Puerto Rico, South America, and beyond.
